Anchor Line steamship built 1873 at Glasgow by Alexander Stephen & Sons. The Ethiopia was the identical sister of the Anchor Line steamships Anchoria (1), Bolivia, Devonia and Circassia (1). The Ethiopia sailed with emigrants and other passengers mainly between Glasgow and New York.
