State Line Line steamship built 1874 at Glasgow by London & Glasgow Co. Ltd. This ships mainly sailed with emigrants and other passengers between Glasgow and new York. In 1884 she collided with the bark Pomona in mid-ocean, both ships sank, 123 lives lost. This image is from an old engraving based on a sketch by one of the survivors. The original measures ca. 35cm. x 24cm.
