Thingvalla Line steamship built 1881 at Copenhagen by Burmeister & Wain. On Aug. 14, 1888 the Geiser collided with the Thingvalla, broke in two after 5 minutes and sank, 105 lives lost. This engraving is from an old Thingvalla Line booklet published 1887. The original engraving measures ca. 12 x 8 cm.
