This image shows a full rigged clipper-ship belonging to the Black Ball Line. The James Baines was launched on 25 July 1854. She was built at the East Boston shipyard by ship builder Donald McKay. Her dimensions were: 226ft. x 45ft. She had a burden of 2,275 tons register. She was a passenger clipper ship constructed of timber and had accommodations for about 700 passengers.
