This steamship was built by Barclay & Curle at Glasgow 1915 as the "Czaritza" for the Russian American Line. She first sailed on the Libau - New York service. In 1921 she was renamed "Lituania" for the Baltic American Line (Danish). In 1930 she was transferred to the Polish Transatlantic Line and was renamed "Kosciuszko". She was the placed on the the Gdynia - Copenhagen - New York service. In 1939 she was renamed "Gdynia" and served as a Polish naval depot ship. In 1946 she became the "Empire Helford" for British owners. Scrapped 1949. This image is from an old photo postcard.
