Old engraving showing the Government Medical Inspection office for emigrants at Liverpool 1850. No passenger were permitted to proceed on the voyage until a medical practitioner appointed by the emigration office had inspected them and found them to be free from contagious disease. This was according to the Passenger act. This image was printed in the London Illustrated News 1850. The original measures 15 x 11 cm.
