Hull, steamship wharf - North Eastern Railway

The wharf at Hull where steamships from all over Europe disembarked emigrants which were bound for the great British harbors on the vest coast where they would embark the transatlantic steamships. The wharf was located together with the North Eastern Railway permitting emigrants to go straight from steamship to quayside to train. The two funneled steamship at the center of the picture is the Wilson Line steamer Calypso which sailed on the Scandinavian routes. Some of the other ships were sailing between French harbors and Hull.
