Norddeutscher Lloyd steamship built 1924 by A.G. Weser at Bremen. The ship was built for the NDL East Asia service. In 1927 she was seized by the Chinese revolutionaries at Shanghai but released after a week. In 1935 she was converted to a freighter with accommodation for 24 only passengers. In 1937 she was briefly seized by the Chinese at at Shanghai while resisting the Japanese invasion. In Sept. 1939 she took refuge at Dairen on the outbreak of WW2. In September 1840 she was sold to Japan and renamed "Teikoko Maru", and later "Teikei Maru". In December 1944 she was sunk in an U.S. air attack of Cape Bolinau, Luzon. This image is from an old postcard and shows the ship in Asian waters.
