Princess Alice - color

Norddeutscher Lloyd steamship built 1900 at Stettin by AG Vulcan as the Kiautschou for HAPAG's Far East service. In 1904 she was purchased by NDL and renamed "Princess Alice". In 1917 she was seized by the United States and became the US Govt. ship "Princess Matoika". In 1921 she was transferred to the US Lines and was renamed "President Arthur" in 1922.
