Norddeutscher Lloyd steamship built 1902. Used as a passenger and cargo steamer in the Mediterranean. "Dienst: Venedig - Alexandrien. Grosse: 6955 Br.R.T. Länge: 142,4m. Breite: 15,8m." The Schleswig had accommodation for 227 1st class-, 69 2nd class- and 234 3rd class passengers. In addition she had a crew of 166 persons. In 1919 the ship was given to France as war reparation, and in 1921 renamed General Duchesne. The image is from an old postcard
