French Line steamship built 1865 by Robert Napier & Sons. The Ville de Paris was placed on the Havre - (Brest) - New York service. She used about 9 days on the crossing from Brest to New York. In 1974 the ship was re-engined with more powerful engines. In 1888 she was sold and converted to sailing ship, the new owners renamed her H. Bischoff. She was re-built in 1889 by Blyth Dry Dock Co., Blyth, and a fourth mast was added. In October 1900 the ship stranded during a storm and was broken down by the sea.
