Immigrants filing past the doctors - Ellis Island

All immigrants were scrutinized by two doctors as they filed past them. The first doctor looked for indication of disease, the second for deformities. The gating to the left was the detention pen for suspects, detained for further and more minute inspection. Printed in Quarantine Sketches - Maltine Co.
